The Absent Minded Professor

*shudder* Just came across those kinds of folks that disturb me (and are the reason I avoided the title “Fan” for so many years). For the record, if I’m ever a Fan of someone, it’s because of what they’ve got from the neck up, not what they’ve got from the neck down. For me to take up that torch and intentionally invest both personally (by drawing inspiration from the person behind the art) and monetarily (by paying whatever it takes get to see said art) you’ve got to be far, far more than just someone nice to look at. That said, it makes me sad when people devalue those people I’ve chosen to be a Fan of by implying that the greatest thing they have to offer is being nice to look at. Not that there is anything wrong with being pretty….but c’mon folks, there’s so much more to life.

I’m just sayin’….
